These 10 players won't be available as Norwich City and Burnley both look to collect their first three points of the new campaign
Two sides eager for their first league wins of the new campaign at their third attempt meet at Carrow Road on Saturday, as Norwich City entertain Burnley.
Both outfits have high expectations for the current year, with Norwich one of the best sides in the division in the second half of last season and Burnley coming down from the Premier League, so for both to be in the bottom seven coming into the weekend is a slight concern.
The Canaries have at least enjoyed a winning run in the EFL Cup thus far, and beat fellow Championship opposition Cardiff City on Tuesday in South Wales. They'll be hoping that momentum can carry them to three points on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Clarets have yet to win after 90 minutes under Nicky Hayen, with both their EFL Cup games ending level and heading to penalties, of which they were beaten on Wednesday against League One side Bradford City.
A win is imperative for both of these clubs, but these 10 players won't be available to help their sides achieve it.

The main injury layoff at Norwich surrounds winger Ali Ahmed, who suffered a cruel ACL injury just days before the campaign began, all but ruling him out for the entire year.
The Canadian was a lively customer off the left in the second half of last season after arriving from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps in January for £1.4 million, registering seven goal involvements in 19 games.

Left-back Lucien Mahovo will miss the start of the current campaign after injuring his ankle during a pre-season friendly against Colchester United.
New arrival Darlin Yongwa made his Canaries debut against Cardiff in their cup win on Tuesday, so there should be ample quality on the left side of the back four, even with the 21-year-old's absence.

Mirko Topic played just a game and a half under Philippe Clement before he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in November.
There'll be hope that, after Ante Crnac made a goal-scoring return from an identical injury on Tuesday night after 10 months on the sidelines, the Serbian international won't be too far away from a full recovery himself.

Paris Maghoma missed out on the 3-0 defeat at Millwall, and the EFL Cup win over Cardiff on Tuesday night due to a calf problem.
The former Brentford man has been key to Philippe Clement's side since joining in January, registering five goal contributions in 16 games in the second half of last season in all competitions.

And Jovon Makama continues to close in on a return after missing the opening four games of the season after picking up a foot injury in a pre-season friendly vs Colchester.
The 22-year-old had an exciting first season at Carrow Road, netting 13 times in all competitions, but injury has meant his last appearance for the Canaries came in February.
Makama is currently back in training, but is still a doubt, with it imperative that he makes a full recovery and doesn't find himself back in the treatment room immediately.

Burnley captain Josh Cullen remains out of action after he suffered an ACL injury in late December against Everton.
The 30-year-old is making good progress towards a return, but is still not expected back until around October.

Young winger Enock Agyei has only made three senior appearances for Burnley since arriving from Anderlecht's academy back in January 2023 — all three coming in their 2024/25 second-tier campaign.
He's yet to make his bow under Nicky Hayen, who stated that the 21-year-old is sidelined with an unspecified injury.

The loss of Jaydon Banel ahead of the new season was a real blow for Burnley, after the exciting Dutchman ended last year in brilliant form while on loan at Derby County, scoring three in his last six.
Back in early August, Nicky Hayen stated that the 21-year-old would be out for "many weeks."

Jordan Beyer has had a really rough time as of late, not making a competitive appearance in nearly three years now due to a serious knee problem.
The 26-year-old had no pre-season involvement under Hayen, and his future at Turf Moor is uncertain.

Ashley Barnes signed a new one-year deal with Burnley in the summer, but the 36-year-old hasn't been fit to feature at all for the Clarets under Nicky Hayen this season.
