A look at 3 players who may well depart The Valley before the end of the window.

For the first time since 2019, Charlton Athletic are preparing for a campaign in the Championship after beating fellow capital club Leyton Orient in the League One Play-Off Final last season.

The Addicks were certainly far from favourites to win promotion last season, with Nathan Jones' side hitting a rich vein of form right at the business end of the campaign in order to get themselves into the lottery of the play-offs.

A nervy and very intense two legs against Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals followed, where the South-East London side prevailed in order to set up a London derby in the final. In what was another pretty intense, cagey and nervy clash, it was Charlton who prevailed - as Macaulay Gillesphey's goal earned them a spot in the Championship for next season.

And Jones' side will certainly be hoping for successive seasons at this level for the first time since their spell between 2012 and 2016 after a really impressive transfer window.

Given the long list of incomings, there are likely to be some more outgoings from The Valley this summer, particularly in forward areas. Here, FLW looks at some Addicks players who could be looking for pastures new this window.

Micah Mbick

The 18-year-old youth product impressed in a handful of appearances last term, although he did only make five appearances in 2024/25, the same as 2023/24.

He has been involved in pre-season for the Addicks though, and even scored the winner in a 3-2 victory at Isthmian League Premier side Dartford in July. He is a pacey forward with an eye for goal and will definitely want to have starting minutes this season, in a move that might benefit Jones as he clearly has seen enough to keep him involved with the first team at such a young age.

The striker is likely to also find even more limited minutes now given the arrivals of Olaofe and Kelman, so a loan spell to a club in perhaps League Two could well be an option for the Newham native.

Daniel Kanu

Another product of the Addicks' famed youth system, the 20-year-old Sierra Leone international striker made 17 appearances and scored one goal last season.

Again, given the reinforcements that Jones' side have made, as well as the likes of Matty Godden still being at the club, Kanu looks set to find minutes at much more of a premium in the second tier.

The Addicks would probably again only sanction a loan for Kanu, who scored four goals in six games on loan at Southend United at the back end of 2024.

Ashley Maynard-Brewer

The Australian youth international has been somewhat displaced to third choice, following the arrival of Kaminski to be the undisputed number one, with Will Mannion still at the club as well.

He has been number one at the Valley for multiple different time periods, most notably between 2022 and 2024, but he was displaced by Mannion towards the back end of last season and, with the Belgian also arriving, the Dunstable-born goalkeeper may well fancy a move away to be a regular number one.

Having had six loan spells away from The Valley since signing in 2015, this summer feels like one where the 26-year-old might well be looking for a permanent move away.
