Chelsea feel Emanuel Emegha has more potential than Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea were linked with Emegha earlier this summer, and the Dutch under-21 international scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 last season as Strasbourg secured Conference League football.

The Blues reportedly held discussions about a late move for Emegha after Liam Delap’s injury, but ultimately opted against doing so.

Emegha will join Chelsea next summer.

The striker has made a good start to the campaign and has three goals in four appearances in all competitions, whilst his overall recored is 26 goals in 64 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Emegha is an interesting profile as he stands at 6’5″ but is also blessed with pace, and was the quickest player in Ligue 1 last season.

This signing certainly means the end of Jackson regardless of what happens at Bayern Munich, and The Athletic have reported the Blues believe Emegha has greater potential than the Senegalese.

The report adds the Blues plan to sell Jackson in 2026 even if Bayern don’t trigger the obligation to buy in the loan deal.

Marc Guiu to make an impact?

With Emegha not arriving until next summer, Chelsea will need to make do with their current options for this season.
