FPL is returning for gameweek seven, and we’re fresh with tools to help you in your endeavours with tips for the Best FPL Differentials For GW7.
Check out our Expected Points page, with all the best possible picks, ready to filter to match what your team needs.
We’ve used this tool in finding the top five differentials this week!
In Fantasy Premier League, a differential is a player with a low ownership percentage (under 10% of managers) who has the potential to score high points.
The idea is that, because so few people have them, any haul they get gives you a much bigger jump in rank compared to picking the highly owned “template” players.
They are your secret weapons, and we want to help you find them.
Ready? Let’s help you win your mini league with some differential picks!
A personal favourite for this week, I’ve just brought the Brighton winger into my team. A pacey and dynamic player, Minteh is exciting down the Seagulls’ right-hand side.
So far this season, Minteh has 29 points, already a third of his total tally in 2024/25. He tops the expected points (xP) this week, with 6.4, against a rock-bottom Wolves team.
With an ownership of just 2.3%, not many wingers in FPL have this high of a ceiling for the bargain price.
Many FPL managers are (understandably) flocking to Sunderland centre-back Omar Alderete right now, after yet another clean sheet last weekend and a match-winning goal. But after a price rise for Alderete, let me introduce you to his partner at the back – Nordi Mukiele.
Since joining Sunderland for GW2, the defender has returned in four out of five weeks, with either DEFCON points and/or a clean sheet.
Owned by just 1.7% of FPL players, Mukiele could be that differential to the more increasingly-owned Alderete, and bring you points for less. Mukiele is in my squad.
Another Sunderland player on this list – the Black Cats are absolutely flying so far this season.
In three starts, Isidor has three goals, and now he’s looks to be a mainstay in Sunderland’s side. Up against the always shaky Manchester United, he’ll look to exploit the gaps in their defence at Old Trafford, and take home another return.
Owned by just 2.9% of managers, Isidor could be an excellent bargain option.
Everybody (including me) rushed to get rid of Ollie Watkins after he failed to return in the first five gameweeks of the season.
But in gameweek six, Aston Villa looked like that exciting team we have come to know over the last couple of seasons. After numerous price drops from £9.0m, could Ollie Watkins be a cheap option for what he potentially offers? Against Burnley in GW7, he has an xP of 5.7.
Just dropping into the differential list recently at 9.8% owned, Watkins could be that formidable striker under Emery once again.
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Igor Thiago. He was included in the GW1 differentials article as a rogue shout. Since then, he has 4 goals in the first 6 games of the season. But I took him out in my wildcard…
Don’t be like me! Get Igor Thiago! I labelled him as the ‘ultimate’ differential, which he has turned out to be. Frustrating for some.
With an ownership of 2.4%, Thiago is Brentford’s heir to Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa. Just much cheaper than the previous two.
