FPL is returning for gameweek eight, and we’re fresh with tools to help you in your endeavours in finding the best differentials.
Check out our Expected Points page, with all the best possible picks, ready to filter to match what your team needs.
We’ve used this tool in finding the top five differentials this week!
In Fantasy Premier League, a differential is a player with a low ownership percentage (under 10% of managers) who has the potential to score high points.
The idea is that, because so few people have them, any haul they get gives you a much bigger jump in rank compared to picking the highly owned “template” players.
They are your secret weapons, and we want to help you find them.
Ready? Let’s help you win your mini league with some differential picks!
Liverpool’s adaptable Hungarian has played across various positions this season, and looks set to be a great pick, considering Arne Slot’s trust in him. Some Liverpool fans have branded Szoboszlai as the next captain of the club; he’s an important part of such a good team.
At just £6.5m, Szoboszlai has 27 points so far this season. For GW8, he’s the differential with the highest Expected Points, with 5.8 predicted.
With an ownership of just 3.7%, getting Szoboszlai in could be a smart coup.
Burnley have some really interesting picks this season, and their battling midfielder Josh Cullen seems to pick up plenty of DEFCON.
In the top ten for midfielder points in this FPL season, Cullen is projected for 5.3 against Leeds United in GW8. At £5.0m, he’s the best value for money in the game!
Owned by just 2.1% of players, Cullen could be a really clever fifth midfielder for your squad.
The Brighton winger has just received a price rise, and it’s no wonder why. Minteh has returned in three of the last four gameweeks, and looks as dangerous as he’s ever been in the Premier League.
Minteh is projected at 5.7 points in GW8, for when his side host Newcastle, who he scored against last time out.
Owned by a tiny 3.5% of FPL managers, Minteh should be the next player you bring in. He’s finally showing some of that promising pre-season form!
Another DEFCON beast, Granit Xhaka already has Sunderland fans in love with his passion and consistent performances in the midfield for the Black Cats.
Predicted at 5.1 points in GW8, Xhaka really gives you bang for your buck. Against the worst team in the league Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sunderland will really fancy their chances in this one.
Owned by 4.1% of FPL managers, Granit Xhaka could be another fantastic fourth or fifth midfielder pick to fill out your team, able to rotate in and out as you please.
After often playing as the central striker under Graham Potter, Nuno Espirito Santo has Bowen back on the right wing, where he can deliver crosses to West Ham’s forwards.
Up against Brentford, Bowen is predicted 5.7 points this week, and after the international break, maybe West Ham are set to click under Nuno’s management?
The highest-owned differential in this list, Bowen is utilised by 7.4% of managers as of now. A player who looked like he’d be of less FPL value after being put as a forward, Bowen is proving everybody wrong, as he always seems to do.
There’s plenty of under-the-radar gems that we’ve picked out for you, which one is going to be the best in GW8?
Make sure to check out our Expected Points tool to find even more differential stars.
