Saturday, 18 October (18:30 CEST): FC Bayern Munich vs. BVB

After the international break, Borussia Dortmund travel to current league leaders Bayern Munich for the first of two top Bundesliga matches for the Black & Yellows in October. Munich have won all five of their Bundesliga matches this season and have yet to drop any points. Last season, there was no winner in either of the two encounters (1-1, 2-2).

Tuesday, 21 October (21:00 CEST): FC Copenhagen vs. BVB

The Borussia players will come up against a familiar face when they face the Danes: "I'm personally very happy that we'll be meeting Youssoufa Moukoko in Copenhagen," said sporting director Lars Ricken after the draw for the league phase. The former Borussia player moved from Dortmund to Denmark in the summer. BVB are unbeaten against FC Copenhagen (three wins, one draw). The last meeting between the two sides was in the group stage of the 2022/23 season, when BVB won 3-0 at home and the away game ended 1-1.

Saturday, 25 October (18:30 CEST): BVB vs. 1. FC Köln

The promoted team will be back at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, with their last visit dating back to August 2023. Back then, BVB won 1-0, securing their 35th home win against Effzeh (19 draws, 10 defeats). Cologne have made a successful start to the season since returning to the league and are currently seventh in the table after two wins, one draw and two defeats.

Tuesday, 28 October (18:30 CEST): Eintracht Frankfurt vs. BVB

After their 1-0 win over Rot-Weiss Essen, BVB will face a league rival and Champions League participant in the second round of the DFB-Pokal: the Black & Yellows will play away to Eintracht Frankfurt for a place in the round of 16. The last time BVB faced the Eagles in the DFB-Pokal was in the 2016/17 season, when the teams met in the final in Berlin. Borussia lifted the trophy that day after prevailing 2-1.

On Matchday 9 of the Bundesliga, Borussia will once again have to fight for points away from home. In Dortmund's most recent away win at the WWK Arena in May 2023, Julian Brandt scored the final goal to make it 3-0. It was already his fourth goal in a BVB shirt against Augsburg. Against no other club has he scored more goals while playing for Borussia. Incidentally, Brandt also scored his first goal for BVB against Augsburg.
