The Rebaño Sagrado is just days away from beginning its Clausura 2026 campaign, with its season opener set for this Saturday, January 10, at Estadio AKRON, where Chivas will host Pachuca aiming to start the year on the right foot.
Beyond the importance of picking up all three points in the opening match of the tournament, Chivas has a solid defensive record in its favor—one it has built over recent tournaments and that will undoubtedly play to its advantage at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca.
In the last 13 meetings against the side from Hidalgo, the Chiverío has managed to keep a clean sheet on eight occasions, conceding just nine goals overall. A record that reflects the defensive strength the Rebaño has consistently shown when facing the Tuzos.
One of the main traits that has defined Gabriel Milito’s team has been precisely that defensive solidity, the result of constant work and high intensity in every training session. Proof of that came in the most recent matchup against Pachuca, where Guadalajara claimed the win and once again kept its goal intact.
With renewed excitement that comes with the start of a new tournament, Guadalajara will look to set the tone from the opening whistle and, backed by the entire Nación Rojiblanca, aim to register another clean sheet against Pachuca—further cementing defensive solidity as one of its key weapons in the Clausura 2026.
