Multiple sources claim that ex-Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim is the leading candidate for the Milan job, with the Rossoneri offering the Portuguese a two-year deal.

Portuguese coach Amorim is close to becoming the new Milan coach, according to multiple sources.

Milan offer Amorim a two-year deal

Gazzetta and The Athletic reported on Saturday that Amorim had become the leading candidate for the job at San Siro, and A Bola in Portugal confirms that talks between the Rossoneri and the 41-year-old are at an advanced stage.

The Portuguese newspaper and Corriere dello Sport claim that Milan have offered Amorim a two-year deal worth from €3m to €4m per season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the sum is €3.5m, while A Bola adds that the Milan offer includes an option to extend for a further campaign.

Amorim was appointed by Manchester United in November 2024, but was sacked on January 5, 2026 after just 14 months in charge.

Milan had previously held talks with ex-Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino, but Amorim is now believed to be the leading candidate to replace Massimiliano Allegri and lead the Serie A giants in 2026-27.
