The free agent goalkeepers Juventus could sign after Grabara blow | OneFootball

Juventus may need to return to the market after Kamil Grabara’s ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, and the list of goalkeepers available without a club is long on experience.

According to Calciomercato, the pool of free agents includes former Vitoria Guimaraes stopper Bruno Varela, ex-PSG man Sergio Rico and Jasper Cillessen, once of Valencia and Barcelona and, fittingly enough, at Juventus’ midweek opposition NEC Nijmegen last season.

Familiar faces from Serie A among the options for Juventus

Several names will be known to Italian audiences. Neto, the 37-year-old Brazilian, spent two years in Turin between 2015 and 2017 and is available after his Botafogo contract expired. Asmir Begovic is another, as is Gabriel Vasconcelos, the 33-year-old formerly of Milan and Napoli. Benjamin Siegrist, the 34-year-old Swiss last seen at Genoa, offers more recent Serie A exposure.

Squad list regulations may narrow the field, and on that front Alessio Cragno and Alfred Gomis emerge as the most appealing candidates. Cragno has recovered from an Achilles tendon injury and is looking for a club, while Gomis, 33, became a free agent when his Palermo deal ended.

The alternative is internal: promoting from the Next Gen setup rather than spending.
