The players who could depart Coventry City for nothing at the end of the season
Coventry City are enjoying a strong campaign under Frank Lampard this year and have their sights set on promotion to the Premier League.
The Sky Blues missed out on a top flight return last season when they suffered a play-off semi-final defeat to Sunderland with a late extra time winner from Dan Ballard.
The club have not been in the first division since 2001, so they will be looking to end their 25-year wait by going one step further this term.
With the January transfer window now closed, we know what the squad will look like for the run-in, with everything getting quite close at the top of the Championship table.
But here we look at the players that will leave Coventry this summer, as things stand…

Jamie Allen has been with Coventry since making the move from Burton Albion in June 2019.
The midfielder was a part of the side that gained promotion from League One in 2020, and has been a consistent presence for the club in their years back in the Championship as well.
The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Lampard, but has still proven himself as a useful part of the squad as they push for a place in the Premier League.
However, Allen’s most recent contract extension was signed in April 2023, and it ran until the summer of 2025, with an option for a further year.
While that clause for an extra 12 months was triggered last year, it does now mean that his deal is set to expire this June.
This could be his final few months at the CBS Arena, particularly with how limited his minutes have become over the last year or so.
Allen has continued to play on a semi-regular basis under Lampard, but starts have become few and far between, with most of his appearances coming in the final minutes of games.
On that basis, it remains to be seen whether he has any kind of future with the Sky Blues beyond this season, regardless of whether or not they gain a place in the top flight.

Brad Collins is currently out on loan with League One side Burton Albion after joining the team in the summer.
The goalkeeper fell down the pecking order at the CBS Arena in the 2024/25 campaign, where he made just 15 appearances in the Championship.
The 28-year-old hasn’t played for the Sky Blues since a 1-0 loss to Luton Town on 26 April 2025, and that may prove to be his final game for the club.
Collins’ contract is set to expire in 2026, and it remains unclear whether he has a place in Lampard’s first team plans going forward.
He was loaned out to the third tier for this season, and he has been a consistent presence for Burton since his arrival in September.
Given he is unlikely to ever be first-choice between the sticks at Coventry again, it would come as no surprise if he was released as a free agent when his loan spell comes to an end in the summer.
