The 30 nominees for the 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or have been revealed, with WSL stars Alessia Russo and Khadija Shaw among those included.

Russo enjoyed another outstanding year for Arsenal, scoring 29 goals and providing nine assists in 50 appearances.

Manchester City striker Shaw is also among the leading contenders after a remarkable goalscoring year. The Jamaica international scored 36 times and registered 10 assists in just 36 matches as City won the WSL and FA Cup.

Barcelona are heavily represented following another trophy-laden campaign, with Esmee Brugts, Cata Coll, Caroline Graham Hansen, Patri Guijarro, Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina all nominated.

Pajor scored 34 goals in 46 appearances, while Pina contributed 32 goals and nine assists as Barcelona won the Champions League, Liga, Spanish Cup and Spanish Super Cup.

Two-time winner Putellas is also nominated after recording 26 goals and 15 assists across spells with Barcelona and London City Lionesses, having helped Spain win the Nations League before her club switch.

Bayern Munich also have several contenders after winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup. Pernille Harder scored an impressive 35 goals in 47 games, while Klara Buhl registered 10 goals and 23 assists and Momoko Tanikawa contributed 17 goals.
