The Girona FC coach, Míchel Sánchez, spoke ahead of tomorrow's match at Montilivi against RCD Mallorca, an important clash, but the coach sought to downplay its significance. “The team is much better than last year, and tomorrow is not a final,” Míchel assured, recalling the competitive context of the season. “I’ve already said – I insist – that this is a year of suffering. There are eleven teams in the same situation as us. Winning would be a good step but not definitive.”

The coach highlighted the commitment of the locker room and the improvement compared to the start of the season: “Everyone is focused and giving one hundred percent. Honestly, it’s nothing like last year. After the very poor start to the league we had, now we are in a privileged position. We are a different team, much better.”

Regarding what he expects to see on the pitch, Míchel was clear about the style of play: “We need to be aggressive with and without the ball, move the ball quickly to the opponent’s area, take shots on goal, press, recover... I want to see our style.” In this regard, the coach directly appealed to the collective spirit: “The Girona pride must be on the field tomorrow.” He also emphasized the value of the fans’ support, with all tickets sold out: “The best news is that tomorrow the tickets are sold out. The 12th player is responding.”

Finally, Míchel concluded the press conference with an optimistic message: “I am convinced that tomorrow we will play a great match. Together we can achieve great things.”
