Chelsea are hopeful Cole Palmer can hand them a major boost by being fit for Sunday’s huge game against Arsenal.

Palmer hasn’t played for the Blues since the defeat to Manchester United in September, and has been plagued by a groin injury which has caused him issues since the Club World Cup.

It’s thought the 23-year-old has recovered from the groin issue, but Maresca confirmed before the Burnley game Palmer had fractured his toe in an accident at home.

Chelsea hopeful Cole Palmer will be fit for Arsenal clash

Chelsea are thought to have had a boot specially adapted for Palmer in order to get him back to action as soon as possible.

The England international returned to training on Monday, but missed the 3-0 win against Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Chelsea welcome the Gunners to Stamford Bridge in a top of the table clash this weekend, and a win would see them go three points behind the leaders.

Having Palmer available would be a huge boost, and The Guardian have reported Chelsea are hopeful he’ll hand them a boost by declaring himself fit.

Palmer has made just four appearances in all competitions, and having him back in the match day squad would provide a major boost.

If fit he would almost certainly start on the bench, but the most important thing is he’s available to play a part in the busy festive period.

The fact the Blues are where they are without Palmer shows they’ve got room for improvement, and the attacker back in the team at his best is a worrying proposition for teams in the league.
