Cyle Larin’s prolific start at Southampton is being matched by recognition back home, with his birthplace Brampton set to award him a key to the city this month.

According to Sainstmarching.com, the ceremony will take place on 27 September in honour of his international career and standing among Canada’s leading all-time scorers, with residents and visitors invited to attend.

Larin has seven goals in seven Championship matches and eight in all competitions from 551 minutes, form that secured the division’s August Player of the Month. Tonda Eckert called him the league’s best striker in August after he netted on the opening weekend against Watford.

After the 4-1 win over Bristol City, Larin credited his surroundings for helping him thrive. “It’s one of the best. I think it has to do with the players around me and the staff, they make me feel at home.

“Off the pitch the club has looked after me and my family, and that’s most important for me to be able to perform and show who I am on the pitch.”

He is also a key figure for Canada, where he is on 34 international goals and, as stated, featured at the 2026 World Cup, scoring twice in quick succession.

It marks a turnaround after doubts stemming from hot-and-cold spells at Mallorca and Feyenoord. Now a Championship Golden Boot contender, promotion to the Premier League is hopefully another milestone he can add come May.
