The Panthers to learn their new head coach by late February

The Gabonese Football Federation has announced the date when the new head coach of the Panthers will be revealed. The decision will be made public on February 28, 2026.

The governing body of Gabonese football released a statement to reassure fans about the progress in selecting their new head coach. They reported that 430 applications have already been reviewed as of today.

“The National Team Coach Selection Application Review Committee, established by FEGAFOOT for the sake of transparency and in line with the announced schedule, informs the public that, as of today, 430 applications have been examined,” the statement reads.

“However, given the scale of the task, the committee has requested and received a few additional days from the Executive Committee beyond the initial deadline. Next, they will begin the interview phase before submitting a shortlist of three candidates, from which the Executive Committee will select the new head coach of the Panthers, with the final decision set for February 28,” the statement adds.
