Southampton’s Finn Azaz heads into a crucial World Cup play-off against Czech Republic at the Fortuna Arena in Prague, with a 13th cap in sight.

The Southampton number ten has 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season. "I will go to represent Ireland with the same mentality and consistency that I've had this season [at Saints]. I will go there with the same winning mentality to try and help my country reach the World Cup," he told the Daily Echo.

Azaz has spoken about the winning mentality under Tonda Eckert hopefully following him to Prague, with Ireland seeking a first World Cup since 2002. Southampton are 14 games unbeaten after overcoming Oxford United 2-0.

"If you start thinking 'What if this happens, what if that happens?' you can get caught up in that, and it can leak into your performances. You don't need those added thoughts and pressure. I'm always thinking about how I can prepare for the next game, then the rest will follow."
