Manchester City and Nottingham Forest have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s massive Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium. Tonight’s match is big for both teams, albeit for contrasting reasons. Pep Guardiola’s side will be desperate to pick up three points to keep the pressure on Arsenal. City sit five points behind Mikel Arteta’s side in the Premier League table, although City do have a game in hand on Arsenal. The Gunners are also in action tonight as they take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium. Forest will be desperate for at least a point tonight given that they sit only two points above West Ham and the relegation zone with their survival hopes hanging by a thread.
Manchester City enter tonight’s match with two players unavailable. Josko Gvardiol and Max Alleyne are both ruled out due to injury. Mateo Kovacic has trained ahead of tonight’s match and could return to the bench.
Erling Haaland missed Manchester City’s win over Leeds last weekend due to an injury he sustained at training late last week. Haaland did train yesterday which indicates that he is available to play tonight. Nico O’Reilly remains in doubt for tonight’s match. The England international sustained an ankle injury during the latter stages of City’s win at Elland Road and his availability for tonight’s match is in doubt.
Here are both team’s starting lineups for tonight’s huge Premier League fixture.
Pep Guardiola has made two changes to the starting lineup that beat Leeds at Elland Road. Erling Haaland and Phil Foden come into the starting lineup. Omar Marmoush drops to the bench and Nico O’Reilly misses tonight’s match due to the ankle injury he suffered against Leeds.
Starting lineup: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland.
Substitutes: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Doku, Nico, Savinho, Khusanov.
