Newcastle's Premier League opener at home to Southampton is just over five weeks away, and today the players have returned to training.
That included 25-year-old defender Lloyd Kelly, who joined the club on a free transfer on 13 June.
Let's go, Lloyd! 👊 –Â
Kelly had worked with Eddie Howe at his previous club Bournemouth, and on signing his contract was relishing the chance to team up with the gaffer once again.
"I know what he wants from his players and how he wants his players to play," revealed the former England U21 international at the time.
"I think with what I can bring it just makes sense. I just can't wait to get started.”
Now, he's officially begun his career at Newcastle, and there were some more familiar faces to turn up at the training session too.
Of course, the return to training will be delayed for the likes of Kieran Tripper and Anthony Gordon, who are still away at EURO 2024.
Excited for the season ahead, Newcastle fans?
