Some news takes a few seconds to properly sink in. When the message confirming his call-up to the Germany squad arrived, our attacker was actually still asleep.
“When I saw the message, I couldn’t believe it at first. I needed a moment to take it all in. Then I called straight back. It was a funny conversation and I was absolutely delighted.”
It quickly became an emotional moment. “Then the tears came as well.” The news also meant a lot to his family. “My parents are really happy and proud of me. They’re excited about what’s to come now.”

This will not be Brajan’s first experience with the senior national team. He trained with the Germany squad as a young prospect in summer 2024 and was on the bench for the friendly against Ukraine. The now 22-year-old is now hoping to win his first cap.
He has continued to gain plenty of experience with Germany’s youth teams since then. Now comes the next step.
“Every player wants to play for the senior national team. I think that’s the goal for everyone.”
Brajan is part of the squad for the second half of the upcoming Nations League games. Germany face Serbia in Munich on 1st October before travelling to Greece on 4th October.
And what is Brajan looking forward to most?
“Seeing the lads. I already know a few of them. I’m looking forward to seeing what the energy is like there – and I just want to enjoy myself.”
