Barcelona’s initial idea is to return to Camp Nou by February 2025, once the club are done with all the league stage matches in the UEFA Champions League.

City Council confirms potential return date

According to Barcelona City Council’s sports councillor, David Escude, it appears the timeline being followed aligns with the one provided by the club during its last Assembly.

Escude confirmed on RAC1 that the expected reopening date remains February, as previously stated by Barcelona vice-president Elena Fort.

“The date given by vice-president Elena Fort at the last Assembly, which is February, is the one we also have. There is no change,” he explained (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

In addition to confirming the timeline, Escude shared details about a recent meeting held between the club, the city council, and local residents from Les Corts.

The purpose of the meeting was to address concerns regarding the ongoing construction and to discuss ways to improve accessibility and mobility around Camp Nou during the renovation.

“The residents explained the inconveniences caused by the work, and together we worked to improve things,” he added.

Finally, Escude praised Barcelona for keeping a few more dates in mind in case the expected return date fails to meet the deadline.

“It is very intelligent on the part of the club to secure a few more dates in case of unforeseen events, like rain,” he concluded.
