With the loan of Karl Toko Ekambi to Rennes, Romain Faivre to Lorient, Tetê’s possible move to the Premier League, and reports of Brazilian midfielder Thiago Mendes’ departure, OL seems to be cleaning house.
According to reports from Foot National, OL’s defensive midfielder could soon be transferred back to his come country. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder arrived in Lyon in 2019 and is under contract until 2025 after two back-to-back phenomenal seasons with Lille.
Since his arrival, he has made 129 total appearances in an OL shirt. Head coach Laurent Blanc has made it clear since his arrival that his position is one he would like to see strengthened by bringing in more “competition.” However, it is now clear that the team wants to go a different way entirely. It was also reported the Ligue 1 club has been interested in bringing in Cologne midfielder Ellyes Skhiri.
On top of all of the departures, OL has not been successful in bringing in replacements that strengthen their roster up to this point of the transfer window. With only a few days left, they have a lot of work to do to compete with the moves some of the other Ligue 1 teams have made.
