Thiago Motta has confirmed that star midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is set to return to the matchday squad for Wednesday evening’s Serie A clash at home against Parma.
The Bianconeri coach confirmed during his pre-match press conference that the Dutchman will return to the matchday squad for the Parma test, but it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to start from the off.
Koopmeiners has been out injured since the start of the most recent international break. He was forced to withdraw from Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands squad and Juventus later confirmed that he had suffered a fractured rib.
As a result, Juve’s €50m summer signing has missed the two matches over the international break, as well as two in Serie A and the 1-0 loss against Stuttgart in the Champions League since then.
Though Koopmeiners is expected to be back among the fold on matchday, Motta made no promises about his involvement in the game.
“We’ll have Koopmeiners back, we’ll see tomorrow if he’ll start or if he comes on in the match, or if he’ll stay with us (on the bench),” Motta said during his pre-match press conference.
Juve still have a fair few other injury concerns, as the coach confirmed that Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez will still be unavailable. Gleison Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik also remain out with long-term injuries.
