Thiago named in PFA Premier League Team of the Year | OneFootball

Igor Thiago has been named in the 2025/26 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

The striker is the first Brentford player in history to receive the prestigious recognition, which is voted for by fellow professionals.

Thiago enjoyed a record-breaking campaign for the Bees, scoring 22 Premier League goals and 25 times in all competitions.

His league tally was the highest recorded by a Brentford player in a single Premier League season, while he also broke the competition record for the most goals scored by a Brazilian in one campaign.

Thiago became the first Bee to win the Premier League Player of the Month award in November before claiming the prize for a second time in January.

His performances were also recognised at Brentford’s end-of-season awards, where he was named both Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

The 25-year-old’s outstanding club form earned him his senior Brazil debut against France in March. Six days later, he opened his international account in a 3-1 victory over Croatia.

Thiago was subsequently selected by head coach Carlo Ancelotti to represent Brazil at the 2026 World Cup in North America.

The Bees no.9 was also shortlisted for the EA Sports Player of the Season award after an unforgettable 2025/26 campaign.
