Thierry Henry paid tribute to Luis Enrique after Paris Saint-Germain retained the Champions League, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

According to L'Équipe, the CBS Sports pundit spoke pitchside at Budapest’s Puskas Arena on the night of the final, where he exchanged words with PSG head coach Luis Enrique, the architect of their back-to-back triumphs.

Henry, an Arsenal supporter, said credit was due, particularly for French football. In his view, Luis Enrique and PSG have changed the history of French football, and what they have achieved, especially the manner of it, is unmatched in France. He added he had not seen a French side play with such quality and confidence in Europe since Marseille in the 1990s.

Henry played for Arsenal from 1999 to 2007 and in 2012, and previously coached Monaco.

He later congratulated everyone involved and saluted PSG in an Instagram post sharing his exchange with Enrique.
