Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to lavish praise on Blaugrana goalkeeper Joan García.

This comes fresh off the Spaniard’s latest standout performance between the posts in Barcelona colours.

Flick’s troops were of course back in action earlier today, welcoming Rayo Vallecano to the Spotify Camp Nou for a La Liga clash.

Shot-stopper Joan, despite an injury scare in midweek, for his part featured from the off in the matchup.

And en route to a hard-fought 1-0 victory for the day’s hosts, the former Espanyol man proved himself the undisputed standout performer.

Joan was in nothing short of wonderful form in the Barca goal, conjuring up a string of top-class saves to hold a game Rayo outfit at bay.

Speaking to the media post-match on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when Hansi Flick was quick to lavish praise on his no.1:

“This is why we signed Joan García. Today’s clean sheet was all his work.”
