After parting ways with Bayern Munich this summer following 25 years of loyalty, Thomas Müller has revealed that he would have considered joining FC Barcelona if Hansi Flick had reached out to him.

At 36, Müller left the Bavarian club as a free agent following the Club World Cup.The German forward then decided to continue his career in Major League Soccer, signing with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Speaking to Blickpunkt Sport, Müller admitted:

I could have pictured a future at Barcelona, yes. If Hansi Flick, who knows me very well, had called me and the project had appealed to me, I could have considered something over there. It’s a great club where everyone knows what’s expected of you.

Hansi Flick, now the Barcelona manager, previously coached Müller both at Bayern Munich and with the German national team. In total, Thomas Müller made 756 appearances for Bayern, scoring 250 goals and providing 276 assists.
