Thomas Tuchel believes Elliot Anderson’s £116million switch to Manchester City could be settled in the coming days.

According to Nottingham Post, the Nottingham Forest midfielder arrived from Newcastle United for £35m in 2024 and is set to leave this summer, a deal that would triple Forest’s investment and set a British transfer record.

Anderson started again in England’s 2-0 win over Panama on Saturday, sealing top spot in the group. The Three Lions face DR Congo on Wednesday afternoon.

“I think there is a very high chance that the thing is sorted before the round of 32,” the England boss said after the match. He praised Anderson’s attitude and improvement after a tough opener, saying the midfielder keeps getting better.

His medical was expected to follow the Panama fixture, and although he had a niggle beforehand he played 84 minutes in New Jersey. Tuchel said the player and medical staff both cleared him and that he has no current issues.
