England manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will hold discussions with Jude Bellingham (22) ahead of the next international camp but admits there are “no certainties” over the midfielder’s inclusion in his World Cup squad, Sky Sports reports.

Bellingham’s omission from the October fixtures, during which England beat Wales and Latvia to confirm qualification for the 2026 World Cup, sparked widespread debate. The Real Madrid star, one of England’s brightest talents, was left out as Tuchel opted to retain the squad that had impressed during September’s internationals.

Tuchel insisted the decision was “not personal”, reaffirming his respect for Bellingham despite their strained history. The pair have not spoken since June, when Tuchel apologised for comments suggesting Bellingham’s on-pitch behaviour occasionally “repulsed” his mother.

I’ll speak to Jude, of course I will,” Tuchel said. “He’s an important player, but everyone who joins the group must buy into the togetherness. That’s non-negotiable.”

Tuchel has faced criticism for leaving out the 22-year-old, but he dismissed claims of bias, pointing instead to fierce competition in midfield and the need to reward consistent performers. “There are many players deserving of a place,” he added. “Hunger and humility are essential.

While Bellingham’s teammates have described his absence as “strange,” Tuchel’s pragmatic approach reflects his broader vision of unity over individual stardom. With England now qualified, attention shifts to the November fixtures against Serbia and Albania, matches Tuchel views as opportunities to refine his squad’s balance and mentality.
