Foot Mercato are reporting that three Belgian clubs are showing interest in signing Coventry forward Norman Bassette. The former KV Mechelen forward spent the past season on loan from Coventry at two different clubs. For the first half of the season Bassette played for Reims before Coventry sent him to Bundesliga 2 and Kaiserslautern. The three Belgian sides said to be interested in signing the Coventry forward are Sint Truiden, Westerlo and Standard Liege.
Bassette began his career with Caen before spending the 2023/2024 season with KV Mechelen. He played 23 games for the side and scored five goals, earning him a move to Coventry the following summer. During his first season in English football with Coventry the young Belgian striker played 29 games, scoring twice. In France, Bassette scored two goals in 13 games for Reims, while in Germany he scored twice in 16 games.
With Coventry now in the Premier League, and Bassette under contract until 2028, it is likely that the side will be happy to see the 21-year-old loaned out again to get more game time and confidence.
