Chelsea women were crowned WSL champions for a sixth consecutive season in 2024/25
Chelsea have announced that three of their early WSL games have been moved so that they can be broadcast on TV.
The Blues are without a doubt the most in demand team to watch in the WSL as six-time reigning champions.
There have been three Chelsea games moved in September, with the club forced to change kick off times for broadcasting.
Chelsea open their season with Manchester City visiting Stamford Bridge on September 5th in the late kick off.
Following their first game of the campaign, all three of the Blues’ September fixtures are now at a different time.
Aston Villa’s visit to Kingsmeadow on the 14th of September will now be played at 12pm. The game will be shown on SkySports Mix.
The first BBC iPlayer game of the season will be shown on the 21st with Chelsea facing Leicester City.
Finally Sonia Bompastor’s side will travel across London to play West Ham on the 28th. The West Ham game will be shown on Sky Sports Football with kick off at 2pm instead of 12pm.
After winning a sixth consecutive WSL title last season, Chelsea didn’t need to strengthen their squad too much.
The Blues have brought in four signings so far this summer with Mara Alber, Livia Peng and Ellie Carpenter all joining the club.
Alber joined from Hoffenheim in July and the 19-year-old is one of the most exciting transfers of the summer for any WSL side.
Carpenter’s experience in Europe should prove invaluable to the Blues who are still searching for an elusive first Champions League title. The 25-year-old has won two Champions League’s already with Lyon.
Peng has been signed as a rotation goalkeeper with Hannah Hampton expected to keep her spot in net.
Backup goalkeeper to Hampton, Becky Spencer, also made her loan move from Tottenham permanent.
