The German U21s celebrate their next victory in the European Championship qualifiers in Georgia, with FC Bayern’s youngster Lennart Karl scoring
Third goal in the second U21 international match: FC Bayern’s Lennart Karl got on the scoresheet in the German U21 national team’s 2-0 win in Georgia. The 17-year-old scored in stoppage time of the first half (45.+2) to give coach Antonio Di Salvo’s team a 1-0 lead
The second goal for Germany was scored by Nicolo Tresoldi (58′), who last played with his club Brugge against Bayern in the Champions League
It was Karl’s third goal in his second game for the German U21 team. He had already scored twice on his debut last Friday in the 6-0 win over Malta. FCB colleague Tom Bischof even scored a treble in that game. Bischof also captained the German team against Georgia
A Bayern transfer candidate was also in the starting eleven: Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln, in whom the German record champions are said to be very interested, played from the start. The attacking player from the cathedral city had been absent against Malta because he had initially been nominated for the senior national team. After consultation with national coach Julian Nagelsmann, however, he later travelled to the U21s
After five games, the German team is in second place in the European Championship qualifying table, three points behind leaders Greece. In October, the DFB team lost 3-2 at home to the Greeks.
