Barcelona are expected to send Aron Yaakobishvili out on loan once again this summer, and interest in the young goalkeeper is already beginning to gather pace.
According to Matteo Moretto, the likes of Mallorca, Racing and Levante have all identified the Barcelona academy graduate as a potential reinforcement ahead of the new season.
Barcelona transfer news suggests the club remain committed to Yaakobishvili’s long-term development, believing another season of regular first-team football will be more beneficial than keeping him as a backup option at Camp Nou.
According to Moretto, Yaakobishvili has emerged as a target for Mallorca, Racing and Levante, with all three clubs monitoring his situation as Barcelona prepare to decide on his immediate future.
The Hungarian goalkeeper spent last season on loan at FC Andorra, where he gained valuable experience in senior football after progressing through Barcelona’s academy.
While the move was viewed positively within the club, Barcelona believe another loan is the right next step in his development.
The club’s priority is to find an environment where Yaakobishvili can play consistently and continue developing under competitive conditions.
With interest now arriving from clubs competing at a higher level than Andorra, Barcelona see an opportunity to accelerate the goalkeeper’s progress.
Although no final decision has been made, the growing list of suitors gives the Blaugrana several options as they look to choose the best destination for one of their most promising young goalkeepers.
There is a feeling within Barcelona that Yaakobishvili benefited from his spell at Andorra, even if the campaign did not unfold perfectly.
The youngster showed encouraging signs throughout the season and continued to develop many of the attributes that had earned him such a strong reputation within La Masia.
However, one of the club’s main conclusions was that the goalkeeper did not establish himself as Andorra’s undisputed first-choice option.
For Barcelona, earning that level of responsibility is considered an important part of his progression before he can realistically challenge for opportunities with the first team.
That is why the club is once again prioritising a loan rather than integrating him into Hansi Flick’s senior squad on a permanent basis.
