+++ 19:50 CET: The BVB line-up is here! +++
Niko Kovac has made just one change to his team compared to the 4-0 home win against Mainz in the league: young talent Luca Reggiani comes into the starting XI to replace the injured Niklas Süle (thigh strain) – a starting line-up and Champions League debut for the 18-year-old. BVB will have to do without Nico Schlotterbeck (muscle problems) this evening.
BVB: Kobel – Anton, Bensebaini, Bellingham, Nmecha, Guirassy, Brandt (C), Beier, Svensson, Ryerson, Reggiani
Today's schedule:
+++ Broadcast on Prime and Netradio +++ You can watch the match live on Prime. The pre-match coverage starts at 18:00. The show is hosted by Jonas Friedrich, with experts Christoph Kramer, Mats Hummels, and Josephine Henning as guests. The match commentary will be provided by Hannes Herrmann. As usual, BVB Netradio will cover the game from a black-and-yellow perspective. Reporters are Norbert Dickel and Boris Rupert. BVB Netradio always starts 15 minutes before kickoff. It’s available on the website and in the BVB app for iPhone and Android devices, accessible to everyone. A summary of the match, as well as the press conference and post-match reactions, will be available on BVB-TV and from 21:00 on ZDF.
+++ Gözübüyük officiates +++ Dutch referee Serdar Gözübüyük will officiate a BVB match for the third time. In November 2015, under his direction, BVB suffered a 0-1 defeat at FK Krasnodar in the UEFA Europa League, and in January 2026, a 1-2 loss at FC Bologna. The 40-year-old official from Heemstede in the province of North Holland has experience from 37 international matches and 20 UEFA Champions League games. Patrick Inia and Rogier Honig will assist on the sidelines, and Pol van Boekel will once again serve as Video Assistant Referee.
+++ BVB in cup kit +++ Borussia Dortmund will play in their international cup kit – yellow shirt, black shorts, yellow socks. Atalanta Bergamo’s team will be almost entirely in white. Their shirts feature blue vertical stripes at the top.
+++ Good morning on matchday +++ Tonight is Champions League night in Dortmund! The anthem will play, the floodlights will come on – at 21:00 the ball will be rolling against Atalanta Bergamo. Weather-wise, it’ll be typical February: lots of clouds, lots of rain, with occasional snow mixed in, and no sun in sight. The temperature will rise to four degrees Celsius in the afternoon and drop to one degree by the end of the match. The chance of rain is 90 percent. In short: pack a scarf and put on a hat if you’re heading to the stadium.
