Tino Traver has stepped down as CD Roda president after 22 seasons, a departure that, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo, coincides with his retirement and closes a cycle built on development.
He entered CD Roda in 2006, serving as player, coach and director before becoming president in 2020.
Traver spent much of his career in banking before joining Villarreal in 2013 to run club collaboration agreements, having also been linked to CD Castellón.
Recruited to Villarreal by the late José Manuel Llaneza, he left banking to focus on football and partnership management.
The Villarreal CF and CD Roda relationship underpinned Roda’s rise, with academy graduates such as Rodri Hernández and Alfonso Pedraza reaching the professional game, some starring for Villarreal and Spain.
Under Traver the first team settled in Tercera Federación, contested promotion play-offs to Segunda Federación and made a first Copa del Rey appearance.
Youth development was the hallmark, with dozens of federated teams and hundreds of players focused on education, talent and values.
Since July 2022 he has sat on the Federación Valenciana de Fútbol board, chaired by Salvador Gomar, and represents Tercera RFEF teams at the RFEF, while helping deliver Endavant Esports to boost provincial sport.
CD Roda publicly thanked him for his dedication and leadership, linking his name to the club’s growth, identity and ambition.
