Tiquinho Soares could come back into Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s plans at Santos as he nears fitness and no acceptable bids have arrived.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the striker has been sidelined by a left calf oedema since pre-season and remains in treatment, with an internal expectation he will be back on the pitch next week to begin reintegration.

After recent changes in attack, Santos told his representatives to seek interest in a transfer. Losing the number nine shirt to Gabigol strengthened the view that he was a negotiable asset.

No proposal satisfied the club. Since the end of last year only loan offers have come in, all requiring Santos to cover high wages, and these were rejected as Vojvoda prefers to keep a physical centre-forward of Soares’ profile rather than loan him out without sporting return.

He remains available for a permanent move if a suitable offer arrives. Otherwise, once cleared by the medical department, he is expected to be at the coaching staff’s disposal.

Signed at the start of last year, Soares played 40 matches in 2025, scoring seven and supplying four assists. Since Vojvoda’s arrival he has featured only twice across the last 18 games, starting once, and had not been in the club’s 2026 plans.
