For Derek McInnes he has seen his side drop seven points in their last three matches and with Martin O’Neill achieving three straight Scottish Premiership wins Celtic are now just four points behind Hearts with a game in hand.

Hearts visit Celtic Park in a few weeks time and if Celtic continue their winning ways then the Champions could find themselves hitting the front, which would have been an extremely unlikely position to have predicted at the end of October after Hearts beat Celtic 3-1 in what turned out to be Brendan Rodgers’ last match as the Celtic manager.

Hearts now has 30 points from 13 matches while Celtic has 26  points from 12 matches played so far in the current campaign.

The remaining six fixture for Hearts in the Scottish Premiership is 2025 are as follows:

1. Motherwell v Hearts – 29 November

2. Hearts v Kilmarnock – 3 December

3. Celtic v Hearts – 7 December

4. Falkirk v Hearts – 13 December

5. Hearts v theRangers – 21 December

6. Hibs v Hearts – 27 December

Meanwhile taking Celtic up to the end of 2025 in the Scottish Premiership are the following six matches:

1. Hibs v Celtic – 30 November

2. Celtic v Dundee – 3 December

3. Celtic v Hearts – 7 December

4. Dundee United v Celtic – 17 December

5. Celtic v Aberdeen – 21 December

6. Livingston v Celtic – 27 November

Remember Celtic also have played a game less than Hearts. That significant gap has been closed, if Celtic continue the current momentum then pressure will continue to mount. Hearts are next in action on Saturday with a difficult trip to Fir Park and Derek McInnes will know he can’t keep giving Celtic encouragement every week because Callum McGregor & Co certainly know how to push on in a title race.
