Titus Bramble has begun an international coaching role with Pakistan's national team. The former Sunderland and Newcastle United defender will work alongside head coach Nolberto Solano.
According to Sunderland Echo, the 45-year-old has been appointed assistant coach of the senior men's side, having shared the pitch with Solano more than 80 times at Newcastle between 2002 and 2007.
Bramble has already been on the training ground, helping to oversee preparations with fellow assistant Walid Javaid.
Solano was initially delayed linking up with the squad due to a visa issue, then travelled directly to Indonesia for the FIFA ASEAN Cup.
Bramble spent three years at Sunderland after joining from Wigan Athletic in 2010, following spells with Ipswich Town and Newcastle during a long Premier League career.
Since retiring he has moved into coaching, working in Ipswich's academy before later coaching in Dubai. His step into international football marks another significant stage in that development.
Solano asked him to become his number two after the pair reconnected in Dubai while the Peruvian was taking the Pakistan job.
