The winner advances to face Club León or Real Salt Lake in the Leagues Cup semifinals, which are held Sept. 1-2.

Phase One

Toluca booked their quarterfinal ticket with two convincing home victories, starting with a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC before concluding Phase One with a 3-1 triumph over FC Dallas.

Those were historic matches at Estadio Nemesio Díez; this is the first year that LIGA MX teams hosted Leagues Cup matches in Mexico.

Alexis Vega: One of Concacaf's most dynamic talents, the 2026 FIFA World Cup veteran is the chief creative force for Toluca's attack.
Helinho: The Brazilian winger found the net in Toluca's win over Seattle and provides a constant threat out wide.
Jesús Gallardo: The Mexican international is a key two-way presence on Toluca's left side and played every minute of Phase One, contributing 1g/1a.

Need to know

Toluca are 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup winners, earning that title by defeating Tigres UANL in May's final.

The continental crown continued a trophy-filled stretch after the Diablos Rojos won the 2025 Clausura and Apertura titles, as well as last year's Campeón de Campeones.

Hoping to add to that haul, head coach Antonio Mohamed's side enters the knockouts as one of the tournament favorites.

Phase One

Austin were one of Phase One's biggest surprises, taking regulation victories vs. Club Tijuana and Puebla before defeating Club América on penalties to advance.

Myrto Uzuni powered the run with 4g/1a, including a hat trick in the 3-0 win over Puebla and an equalizer against América that helped send the Verde & Black through to the quarterfinals.

Myrto Uzuni: The Albanian Designated Player is on fire during Leagues Cup, with his four goals tying him atop the scoring charts with León's Daniel Arcila.
Facundo Torres: The Uruguay international joined Austin during the winter from Palmeiras, marking his MLS return after a star-filled tenure at Orlando City.
Brad Stuver: The veteran, who is Austin's all-time appearances leader (206), has a well-earned reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in MLS.

Need to know

Austin have struggled to find consistency in MLS play this season, but Leagues Cup has offered them a chance to flip the script.

They're led by interim coach Davy Arnaud, with former Philadelphia Union manager Jim Curtin set to take over for 2027.
