Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley confirmed that his side will make two new signings on Monday.
Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley has confirmed that his side will announce two new signings on Monday, following a 1-1 draw at Wycombe Wanderers.
Argyle took the lead through Will Evans' first goal for the club in the 25th minute, before Wycombe struck back via a Connor Taylor header with 15 minutes left which saw the fixture end in a 1-1 draw.
During the match, Cleverley's worst nightmare came true as midfielder Malachi Boateng, who had made 48 consecutive league starts, was forced off in the sixth minute with what the initial prognosis suggested was a knee ligament injury.
This came just a day after Argyle gave Brendan Wiredu the green light to leave the club and join Salford City on a permanent deal, leaving Bradley Ibrahim as the solitary backup to Harvey White and Boateng.
Fortunately, things aren't all doom and gloom for the Devon-based outfit, as Cleverley confirmed to PlymouthLive post-Wycombe that two new signings, including a midfielder, are set to be announced on Monday.

Even through all the injury struggles last season, midfield maestro Boateng managed to stay fit, starting all 46 of Argyle's league matches, the only player to do so in Cleverley's squad.
However, in the sixth minute of the clash against Wycombe, the 24-year-old was forced off the pitch with an injury, in what will come as a massive blow to the Pilgrims.
Boateng was later seen leaving Adams Park on crutches, and his manager revealed to PlymouthLive post-match that the initial prognosis wasn't good news.
"Unfortunately, Malachi looks significant. It's a knee ligament injury," Cleverley said.
All we can do is give the guys the best processes to be as fit as they can do, which we are, and we need a bit of luck."
Boateng could now be set for an extended period of time on the sidelines, a massive blow which comes just one day after Wiredu's departure to Salford, though the Greens' boss has confirmed that a replacement is imminent.

You really do have to feel for Cleverley, who's been dealt injury setback after injury setback during his time at Home Park, which ultimately played a huge part in his side's struggles in the first half of last season, and has come back to haunt them at the start of this campaign.
Players such as Jack MacKenzie and Michael Baidoo have already been sidelined before the start of the season, and now, ever-present midfielder Boateng joins the list of those spending a lengthy stint out of action.
The former Crystal Palace midfielder had been the one man exempt from the injury crisis until Saturday, having made 48 consecutive league starts for Argyle before sustaining his knee ligament injury at Adams Park.
Fortunately, Cleverley and his recruitment team have acted fast in the transfer market to beef up the squad following Wiredu's departure, with the Pilgrims' boss confirming two new additions will be joining the club on Monday.
"They should both happen Monday, I'm fairly confident of that," Cleverley told PlymouthLive.
"Obviously there will be a midfielder coming in and a wide player. Medicals took place last evening. It's much easier to do them when you are up in Wycombe. Deals should be announced Monday."

As is the case with any fanbase when new signings are teased, supporters took to social media to theorize who these two new additions could be, with plenty of names being banded around.
The two most popular names mentioned are Joe Ralls and Owen Dale. Both players played for Argyle last season, and remain unattached.
Another popular suggestion for the wide player was Tottenham youngster Oliver Irow, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Mansfield Town.
Ex-Argyle loanee Tyreeq Bakinson was another name mentioned as the potential identity of the midfield recruit.
Tranmere Rovers' Charlie Whitaker also drew speculation after he was missing from Rovers' squad that faced Port Vale on Saturday.
