Sport1 reports that on-loan Schalke midfielder Tom Krauß will leave the club if they are relegated and will then be sold by his parent club RB Leipzig in the summer.
If Schalke stays up, Krauß will join the club permanently for €3m signing a contract until 2027. However, if they get relegated he will return to his parent club Leipzig as playing in the 2.Bundesliga is not an option for the midfielder.
Leipzig have already decided to sell Krauß and will ask for €4-5m for the 21-year-old. The club already have several midfield options in Xaver Schalger, Kevin Kampl, Amadou Haidara and new signing Nicolas Seiwald.
There is likely interest from a host of Bundesliga clubs, with Borussia Mönchengladbach previously being linked to the midfielder.
Krauß has played 33 times for Schalke scoring twice. They currently sit 17th in the Bundesliga and must win their last game of the season against Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart and Bochum both fail to win to have any hope of staying in the league.
