The Wizard of Oz—who arrived at the club in 2013 and collected 16 domestic trophies—made his farewell in May 2022 during a 6-0 victory against Motherwell on the Scottish Premiership’s closing day.
Taken off to an emotional applause by supporters, players and coaching staff, Rogic later revealed he had long been aware it would be his final match for Celtic.
He admitted that knowing it was his farewell shaped the entire build-up to the game, with his wife, daughter, and brother making the trip from Australia to be in the stands, and said the importance of the occasion outweighed the match itself.

Rogic confessed that he departed Celtic more than satisfied with his nine years of magic moments and thankful that his exit was marked by such a warm response by supporters.
The 32-year-old also spoke proudly of the lasting connections he maintains with the club, its staff, and fans, saying the heartfelt send-off made him feel “very fortunate” to have spent such a successful and memorable period at Celtic.
Speaking on the official Celtic FC Podcast, Rogic said: “I knew well in advance of the game that that would be my last game and had a bit of time to prepare.

“I just remember preparing for the game and thinking nothing about the game, you know, nothing about playing or my position or my role or what I needed to do that day, it was just all about being my last game, and I probably didn’t let off that much, or you know, talk about that that much.”
The Australian added: “I just knew it was special, like my wife, my daughter were in the crowd, my brother was over from Australia, and I knew it was going to be my last game, and I knew I would have a whole bunch of emotions going through me.

“It was the right time for me to move on and all I have is positive memories to look back on and I feel like I left on such good terms and everybody from the club top to bottom has just been brilliant with me so I feel really welcome back now which is nice and that relationship you know a mutual relationship of certainly respect and affection is there with obviously the football club the fans people working within the club all around,” he said.
“That makes me proud, it makes me feel pretty good about things, so you know it’s not every day a player gets to experience such a special club for such a long period of time and cap it off with a kind of perfect send-off, so yeah, I feel very lucky so it’s been amazing”
