Newcastle United got back to winning ways last weekend, earning a hard-fought win over Brighton and Hove Albion at St. James' Park.

The 3-1 victory brought an end to a testing run of results, with Eddie Howe unsurprisingly delighted with the win.

"A big relief for me, for the players, for everybody. It's been a long time coming," he told newcastleunited.com.

"We've missed that feeling of winning, so delighted to get it back today. It wasn't a perfect performance, but it was a really strong performance against a very good opponent. That's a massive win."

Spirits have been high, as expected, at the club's Benton base this week as attention now swiftly turns to a tricky trip to the City Ground.

Midfielder Lewis Miley has been ruled out for the remainder of the season following an unfortunate training injury but the rest of Howe's players have been put through their paces in recent days.
