It took just nine minutes for Bischof to fire his first long-range shot into the bottom right-hand corner. Karl then flicked the ball into the left-hand corner in the 37th minute thanks to a lovely pass from Aljoscha Kemlein, making him the second-youngest ever scorer for the U21s after Youssoufa Moukoko

This was followed by two more impressive long-range shots from Bischof and an Arjen Robben-like dribble from Karl, which he completed with a wonderful finish into the bottom right-hand corner. The result: Both Bayern stars were awarded top marks by Sofascore – 10/10 points

Bayern youngsters not only shine with goals

However, Karl and Bischof’s goals alone were not enough to earn them top marks. Bischof, for example, also contributed an assist, playing the decisive pass before Karl moved inside to make it 5-0

Moreover, the new signing from Hoffenheim was not only highly accurate in his finishing. With a pass rate of 97%, he had the game fully under control. He only made two misplaced passes over the entire match, one of which was on a long ball, but 6/7 of them still arrived

Karl, on the other hand, shone not only with his goals but above all with his wit. 6/9 of his dribbles against the Maltese defenders were successful. As a result, he won a total of 9/13 duels. It was a truly impressive performance by the young Munich player, who, like his team-mate Bischof, is likely to have caught the attention of national coach Julian Nagelsmann.
