MIAMI – The FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025, played from September 27 to October 19, delivered top moments during its latest edition, including the participation of four Concacaf nations.
Here is a look at the best moments from the Concacaf nations participating in the 2025 edition:
Benjamin Cremaschi’s Record Hat Trick for the USA
Benjamin Cremaschi delivered one of the tournament’s defining performances, scoring a hat trick in the USA’s 9–1 win over New Caledonia, the largest victory ever by a Concacaf nation at the U20 World Cup.
At 20 years and 6 months, Cremaschi also became the oldest Concacaf player to score a hat trick in tournament history. The USA set multiple records that night, including seven goals in one half, the most ever by a team from the region.
Mexico’s Historic Win Over Host Nation Chile
Mexico’s 4–1 triumph over Chile in the Round of 16 was a major statement. Tahiel Jimenez scored the opening goal in the first half, before Iker Fimbres, and a brace from Hugo Camberos sealed Mexico’s quarterfinal trip.
It marked the first time Mexico has defeated a host nation at a U20 World Cup, and only the second instance for any Concacaf team, after Costa Rica in 2009. The victory also secured back-to-back quarterfinals for El Tricolor, last achieved in 2011.
Gilberto Mora Becomes the Youngest Concacaf Scorer Ever
Gilberto Mora made history by scoring against Spain, becoming the youngest Concacaf player ever to score at a FIFA U20 World Cup at 16 years, 11 months, and 17 days, surpassing Josh Sargent’s record from 2017. The moment quickly gained traction online, highlighting the rise of a new generation of Mexican talent.
Michael Camejo Makes Cuban History
Cuba’s Michael Camejo became the second Concacaf player ever to score a brace, with both goals from the penalty spot, and is now the Caribbean nation’s top scorer at the FIFA U20 World Cup. His performance against Italy stood out as one of the proudest moments in Cuban youth football, showcasing composure and precision on the global stage.
Martín Krug Scores Concacaf’s 300th U20 World Cup Goal
Panama’s Martín Krug scored the 300th goal ever by a Concacaf nation in U20 World Cup history, a milestone that celebrates decades of regional progress. From Agustin Manzo’s first in 1977 to Krug’s strike in 2025, it marked a proud moment for Panama and the entire confederation.
