Atlético de Madrid fans praise Bilbao, its people and San Mamés | OneFootball

According to El Correo, two Atlético de Madrid supporters used TikTok to hail Bilbao on their second visit despite Saturday's 3-0 defeat at San Mamés.

They followed the team throughout the day, saw the players off at the Meliá hotel, then visited Puppy, their favourite floral dog, which they initially confused with Goofy, before strolling past the Guggenheim.

They praised the people and the street buzz, with packed terraces, pintxos everywhere and top-drawer northern hospitality.

Inside La Catedral they still enjoyed the spectacle, noting the passion, a full house and more than 45,000 fans singing the anthem at full voice.

The sticking point was some chants from the home end, which they said targeted Marcos Llorente throughout and even referenced Aitor Zabaleta. They added that they did not see the point of those songs, then played the matter down as part of football.
