FC Bayern is increasingly turning its attention to promising young players – both from its own campus and from the international talent pool. In this context, Robinio Vaz from Olympique Marseille is becoming a name that is being mentioned more and more frequently at Säbener Straße.

The 18-year-old attacking player is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, and his development in recent months in particular has caught the attention of the German record champions.

According to information from the African portal Africafoot, FC Bayern is one of the clubs keeping a close eye on Vaz. In addition to Munich, Arsenal, Chelsea and SSC Napoli are also said to be keeping an eye on the attacking player. Chelsea are currently said to be exerting the most pressure – and have already begun initial talks with the player’s entourage.

According to the report, Marseille have already rejected a „colossal offer“ from an unnamed club. The Premier League clubs in particular apparently see Vaz as a prospect for the coming years. Chelsea are planning to make a move after the winter transfer window, according to the report.

This presents FC Bayern with the usual difficult competitive environment. Although Munich want to invest more in young players, they have to be very cautious in their bidding with the most financially strong clubs in Europe. Nevertheless, the report classifies Vaz as a highly interesting player – an investment that could make sense in the long term.

Vaz impresses with dynamism, depth and goal threat

The 18-year-old has already shown impressively this season why he is on the scoresheets across Europe. In twelve Ligue 1 games, he has contributed six direct goals. He has also made two appearances in the Champions League.

Vaz is predominantly deployed in the center and prefers to seek out the front line in order to create immediate goalscoring opportunities or finish them off himself. His constant movement, depth of play and skilful free-running ability allow him to tie down defenders, create gaps and open up spaces for his teammates. Modern pressing systems benefit him in this regard, as Vaz is seen as a player who applies pressure early and aggressively.

It is precisely this profile that makes him so interesting for clubs such as Bayern, Arsenal or Chelsea. A flexible, technically strong attacking player who is effective both in finishing and pressing – a type of player who is sought after in top international soccer.

FC Bayern has traditionally shown great interest in internationally outstanding talents. Under Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, this focus has sharpened once again. Vaz could fit this profile – young, capable of development, already proven at a high level.

However, whether Munich will actually intervene seriously in the transfer poker for the talented attacker also depends on how aggressively Chelsea and the other interested parties proceed.
