Tosin is among several players who have finalised Chelsea departures on deadline day.

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea on a permanent deal.

The 28-year-old leaves Chelsea after two years following his free transfer from Fulham back in the summer of 2024, when he penned a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Despite being a popular figure in the Chelsea dressing room, Tosin was surplus to the Blues' requirements under new manager Xabi Alonso.

It saw Tosin left out of all three of Chelsea's matchday squads this season against Fulham, Luton Town and Brighton and Hove Albion.

The writing was on the wall, and Spurs were the club to advance their interest in the centre-back and have now finalised a transfer for Tosin.

Tosin signs for an initial £10 million plus £2m in add-ons, also marking the first permanent first-team deal between the clubs since 2009, after Mykhailo Mudryk's loan arrival. He has penned a multi-year contract with Roberto De Zerbi's side.

Spurs have moved to replace centre-back Kevin Danso, who expressed his desire to leave the north London club.

Tosin is among the many Chelsea defenders to leave the club this summer, either on permanent or loan moves.

Whilst Tosin won't be returning to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea finalised season-long loan deals for Mamadou Sarr and Axel Disasi to Real Sociedad and Crystal Palace, respectively.

Meanwhile, Benoit Badiashile joined Napoli on loan for the season, with an option to buy next summer if the loan proves successful.

Trevoh Chalobah was sold to Como on a permanent deal worth around £30m to end an almost 20-year stay at the club after rising through the academy ranks into the first team.

Chelsea have Levi Colwill, new signing Maxence Lacroix, Wesley Fofana, Josh Acheampong, and Aaron Anselmino as their centre-back options. Reece James and Jorrel Hato can also play at back if needed.

Alonso confirmed he wanted four or five centre-backs for the 2026-27 season, and with Tosin's departure he looks to have got his wish.

But their biggest change has come behind the defence, in goal. Como have agreed a loan deal for Robert Sanchez, who has been displaced at Chelsea by Emiliano Martinez, who was signed from Aston Villa. Alonso's side opted to swap their goalkeepers after Sanchez's errors in their league opener against Fulham on August 24.

After conceding five goals in their first two league games, Chelsea have a lot of work to do to ensure their goals-conceded rate doesn't continue throughout the season.
