FC Bayern has not yet officially unveiled its third jersey for the new season. However, images of the alleged design are already circulating online—and many fans are not happy with them at all. The unusual color combination, in particular, is sparking strong reactions.

The first images of the new alternate jersey had already surfaced on social media a few weeks ago. New leaks from Footy Headlines now appear to reveal further details of the design.

According to these, the German record champions are opting for an eye-catching combination of red, pink, and purple elements for their third jersey. While Bayern takes a comparatively classic approach with its home and away jerseys, the third option is thus significantly more experimental.

However, this approach isn’t going over well with many fans at all.

“Worst jersey I’ve seen in years.”

Criticism is pouring in on social media. “Before the start of this season, this was the jersey I was least worried about; now that it’s been unveiled, it’s the worst jersey I’ve seen in years,” wrote one user on X.

Another fan summed up his opinion much more succinctly: “Absolute trash.”

Some fans also share the hope that they’ll have to see the new jersey on the field as rarely as possible. “Let’s hope we never have to use it,” reads another reaction.

Positive reactions are clearly in the minority so far. Some fans are at least hoping that the jersey will look better when worn than it does in the images released so far.

The home and away jerseys are being received much more favorably

After all, the third jersey probably won’t see much action during the season. The alternate jersey is primarily needed when the home or away jersey doesn’t differ enough in color from the opponent’s uniform.

Bayern has avoided major experiments with the other two jerseys this season. The home jersey features the traditional red, while the Munich team primarily wears white with elements in the club colors for away games.

Both designs have been received much more positively by many Bayern fans. With the third jersey, however, a very different picture is already emerging even before the official presentation.

It remains to be seen whether fans’ opinions will change after the official release and the first photos of the Bayern stars in the new kit. For now, at any rate, the verdict is pretty clear-cut.
