In a recent report, Fotomac mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs hoping to sign Galatasaray winger Kerem Aktürkoğlu next year. It is understood that Spurs will have to rival Arsenal in the race to sign the Turkish wide player.

Akturkoglu’s Good Run Of Form In Turkish Football

The 24-year-old has experienced a decent campaign at Galatasaray after he produced a series of impressive displays on the attacking third of the pitch. Akturkoglu has been involved in 16 matches for his current club this season, finding the back of the net on five occasions and picking seven assists in all competitions.

The Kocaeli-born wing wizard has caught the eye at times in the final third as he is averaging 2.4 shots, 2.6 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. However, he has to figure out a way to improve his ball distribution as he has made only 66.4% of his attempted passes in the Turkish top tier (stats via whoscored).

Akturkoglu’s current contract at the Turkish club will expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, it would be difficult for Spurs to land him on a cut-price deal next year.

Is Akturkoglu The Right Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?

Akturkoglu can engineer some space for himself to get some strikes in on-target. He can shoot the ball purely and with power from long range. Plus, he can even create a few decent chances for others around him from the wide areas.

The Turkish attacker is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player but also play in the number ten position if needed.

We can expect Akturkoglu to add more quality and depth to Tottenham‘s squad. He might even help Angelos Postecoglu’s side sustain a top-four push in the Premier League this season.

At 24, Akturkoglu has his best years ahead of him. Hence, he would be a great fit for Spurs‘ needs in the long run. However, it remains to be seen whether the player can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.

Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing someone of Akturkoglu’s potential. Hence, Postecoglu would be wise to go all out to snap him up next year.
