In a recent report, journalist Dean Jones stated that Tottenham Hotspur are big admirers of Brentford midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk. It has been mentioned that Spurs are keeping a keen eye on the Ukrainian talent.

Yarmolyuk’s Impressive Form In English Football

The 21-year-old managed to catch the eye at times for the Bees in the previous campaign when he put in a handful of solid displays for them in the Premier League. Yarmolyuk made 35 appearances for Brentford last season but failed to score or create a goal for them across all fronts.

The Ukrainian sensation anchored the midfield well as he made 49 tackles, 26 blocks, 13 interceptions and 33 clearances in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing possession from midfield after completing 87% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the English club will run out in the summer of 2031. Hence, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

Will Yarmolyuk Be A Good Option For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank?

Yarmolyuk is a tough-tackling midfielder who can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team in the middle of the park. He doesn’t shy away from clearing the danger when the opposition are on the offensive.

The Ukraine international is a tidy passer of the ball as well. He is quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.

We can expect Yarmolyuk to add a lot of bite and steel to Spurs boss Thomas Frank’s midfield. He is good enough to compete with Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank already knows the player well from his time at Brentford and would be the ideal man to oversee his development at the North London club. At 21, he has the potential to be a future star in the Premier League. Thus, Spurs should focus on going all out to bring the Ukraine international on board next year as he would be a great option for them in the long run.
